Aiight Delight

August 28, 2006

Saturday night Chris came up with the wild idea of riding from Pasadena to Hollywood and Vine. We didn't have anything else to do so why not right? We left Pasadena and headed south through South Pasadena, San Marino, Hightland Park, Eagle rock and a wrong turn somewhere that landed us Downtown. Hot and tired at midnight, we still went through with the plan. We made it to our destination an hour or so later and stood there like, now what??? There was no way we were riding all the way back to Pasadena so we hopped on the train to go home. Ten minutes into the train ride someone (I'm not saying any names) looked around and thought we got on the wrong train headed in the opposite direction of where we needed to go. Too tired to disagree, we got off only to look up and see we were going in the right direction to begin with. Only thirty minutes to wait for the next train, so we though. As it turned out we were on the last train of the evening and the Police were beginning to shut the station down. We ended up stranded at 2:00 in the morning on Beverly and Vermont, still a long way from home. We found our way to Hollywood and Vermont and caught the 180 bus all the way back to Pasadena, an interesting trip back as a bunch of old black men bagged on each others inabilities to satisfy women the whole way back. We made it back to Pasadena at 3:45 a.m. (Photography: Chris Ikner)
